About The Anglican Catholic Church
The Anglican Catholic Church in Kenya (ACCK) is a nationwide entity of the Anglican Catholic Church, Original Province, which is part of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, faithfully continuing the Anglican tradition. We practice and uphold the historic Catholic Faith, Apostolic Order, Orthodox, liturgical and Sacramental Worship as well as Evangelical Witness of the traditional Anglican faith.
In 1977 an international congress of nearly 2,000 Anglican bishops, clergy and lay people met in St. Louis, Missouri, to take the actions necessary to establish an orthodox jurisdiction in which traditional Anglicanism would be maintained, by returning to the fullness of the Faith of the undivided Catholic Church. Acting according to the principles determined by the seven great Ecumenical Councils of the ancient Church, the Anglican Catholic Church came to be, where the Affirmation of St. Louis was adopted and those present placed themselves under the jurisdiction of the retired Episcopal bishop of Springfield, Illinois, the Right Reverend Albert Chambers. Such became the foundation of our Church.
